People of PCHES: Jill Horing

Jill is a PhD student in Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University. Her work focuses on modeling complex environmental systems to improve scientific understanding and decision making. Her current projects include an modeling of uncertainty in climatic variability impacts on linked energy-water systems and an analysis of biodiesel policy in Indonesia, with a focus on the land use implications.

Prior to starting at Stanford, Jill was a researcher at the Joint Global Change Research Institute, a collaboration between the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the University of Maryland. There, she assisted in the development of and analysis using GCAM, a global integrated model.

Jill holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Thayer School at Dartmouth College. Outside of her work, Jill is an avid rock climber, hiker, and coffee enthusiast.
